Double Braided Polyester Rope: Its double braiding makes it extra strong and its low elasticity ensures higher safety. This low cost and abrasion resistant rope make it a good choice for use with our capstan winches where it is exposed to high friction forces and extreme heat.
10 mm or 12 mm ROPE?
We recommend that the 10 mm rope be used with the pcw3000 or PCW5000 winch equipped with the optional 85 mm drum, or with the PCW5000 HS winch.
All other winches should use the 12 mm rope to meet recommended safety factors.
COUPLING
A bowline knot is typically used for pulling applications. Why? Although all knots reduce the rope's performance, the bowline knot only reduces it by 30% compared to 50% for flat knots. Moreover, the bowline is always easy to untie, e.g. when the hook at the end of the rope needs to be replaced.
